Eliminate Abuse and Neglect

Many individuals with disabilities reside in correctional institutions, psychiatric facilities, adult foster care homes or child caring institutions. Unfortunately, they are often subjected to abuse and neglect by staff at the facility. Michigan Protection & Advocacy Service, Inc. (MPAS) monitors for such. Protecting our most vulnerable citizens is a high priority for MPAS.

Objectives

1.   Individuals with disabilities will not be subjected to restraint or seclusion.

2.   Individuals with disabilities will not be subjected to abuse or neglect, including inappropriate or coercive treatments.
